随着时代的推移、佛教的复兴，受持读诵《观世音菩萨普门品》、《心经》、“大悲咒”的人越来越多。同时，人们也越来越需要这些感应事迹，来启发信心、巩固信心、消除修行中的疑惑。

但是，这些在不同朝代、由不同人士用文言撰写的感应故事，文字比较古奥，而现在的学佛者、读者（特别是年轻人）大多难以读懂、无法理解这些故事的精彩内容，对受持、读诵、弘扬传播观音法门，形成了不小的障碍。

所以，译者不揣浅陋，发心译白。文中较生僻的字，都标注了同音汉字。重起书名为《观世音菩萨灵感事迹1000例》，并附载相关通行的经、咒，以方便读者在阅读故事、起信之时，立即就能同时受持读诵经典，早沾法益、早得佛菩萨慈悲恩惠；并能口耳辗转传播，报答佛菩萨恩德。
由于时间仓促，谬误疏漏之处在所难免，敬祈十方善知识指正。
